Steam and Strategy 4: Gnomes

Gnomes.

I don't know why people have lost the love for gnomes, they've always been one of my favorite races. It seems like many people have relegated them to third place second bananas. I want to change that with the incarnation of Gnomes for this conversion. The best way to do this is good racial abilities, racial powers and a large bucket full of racial feats.

That's right support. It's one of the things Gnomes lacked. Other races have their own Paragon Paths, legions of books and powers. Gnomes got what... one weapon, and have always had to share a book with other races? Ok, well I'm not going to make a book of just Gnomes, but I'll put more support behind it. Feats! Magic Items! Badgers to talk to!

Steam and Strategy 3: Classes and Powers

Being the lazy scum I am, I have found yet another program created by someone else! This one is a program that generates powers! So I'll be able to have them grouped and organized.

Full credit goes to: http://www.playwrite-blog.net/ and an example of the neatness.

Thanks for the help!

Now off I go to abuse the generators I've found to make things and get started on the full fledged conversions!

Games and Gaming 5: Tuesday Maintenence 3

Whoo.... 3.0.8 still isn't out! What's taking these people so long!

And it's extended maintenance! Bonus hours!

But I have things to do! I'll be doing extra work on my Dragonmech conversion, And despite things I've read and heard about careful work, like art and design that there should be no distractions I'll have the TV on in the background to keep myself from hearing the blood flow thru my ears.

Steam and Strategy 2:Making Monsters

Been doing some looking around online for a... monster making program to speed the creation up instead of hand entering everything. and I found one!

http://www.asmor.com/programs/monstermaker/index.php

It will take me a bit to get used to, to make creatures quickly, but it's fully functional and customizable. I should be able to make all sorts of beasts from Grease Lizards to Lunar Dragons to a Rampaging Bastion or a squad of Orc Tippers(watch your mech)!

I forgot my labels... how silly of me.

Steam and Strategy 1: The Set Up

This is the first in what should be a LARGE number of posts in a goal oriented drive to the completion of a conversion of the Goodman Games Dragonmech setting.

"Medieval fantasy mechs powered by steam, magic, or the labor of a thousand slaves..." -Joseph Goodman

This project is being spawned by my New Years Resolution. And one of the easiest ways to keep New Years Resolution is to have a plan and a schedule. So, deadlines!

1 year, 12 months, 365 days. So much work so little time.

Classes:
4 new(80-100 powers each), 2 variants(20-30 powers each) 36-40 weeks

Feats:
60-80 feats 3-4 weeks

Races:
Gnome 1-2 weeks
Converting 4E races to setting 1-2 weeks

Other:
Rituals 1-2 weeks
Magic Items 1-2 weeks
Mechs 2-4 weeks
Monsters 2-4 weeks
Steam powers 2-4 weeks
Adventure! 4-8 weeks

Collection:
Setting work(ongoing)
Gather Art (ongoing)
PDF Construction (ongoing)
Editing (ongoing, heavy in final months)

Well that's about right, heavy work to be done. Lot's of reading, rereading and compromise to do. And a lot of it will be done back and forth amongst the categories.
